Take That
Take That

britische Popgruppe, 1990 gegründet vom Manager und Produzenten Nigel Martin Smith: Gary Barlow (* Cheshire 20. 1. 1974), Howard Donald (* Manchester 28. 4. 1968), Jason Orange (* Manchester 10. 7. 1970), Mark Owen (* 27. 1. 1974), Robbie Williams (* Port Vale 13. 2. 1974). Take That landete 1991 ihren ersten Hit mit der Single »It only takes a Minute«, danach erzielte die Band vor allem beim Teenagerpublikum enorme Erfolge mit ihrem Mainstream-Pop und den Euro-Dance-Songs aus Barlows Feder; mit Balladen wie »Back for Good«, die sich an ein reiferes Publikum richteten, versuchte die Band sich von ihrem Teenie-Image zu befreien. 1995 stieg Williams aus, 1996 löste sich Take That auf; Barlow, Owen und Williams starteten Solokarrieren.
